Place François Rude
Place François Rude
The people of Dijon call it the Place du Bareuzai, in reference to the statue of a grape-picker who, while treading the grapes, dyed his stockings a pinkish color (bas rosés: bareuzai). The square was created at the beginning of the 20th century by the Municipality, which razed buildings to free the place. Its carousel, still in activity, displays in its decoration the constructions of Gustave Eiffel.
