Le Moulin Saint Claude
D560
The Mill has a long history. Acquired in the 13th century by the prior of Saint Victor, it has been a tower mill, a sickhouse, a fuller, and a cloth mill; water, it has been adapted with the arrival of the steam engine, as evidenced by the brick path still present in the garden.
Sold many times, the commune bought it in 2001 and restored it between 2004 and 2006 to make it a cultural pôle. the Pôle culturel du Moulin Saint Claude currently houses municipal services, association rooms as well as a room of ancient tools that honors the collection of Paul Tamisier, donated to the municipality in 2015.
We can see at the entrance of the site a reconstruction of a noria (jointly realized by the Commune, ASPA and CEMEX) then overlooking the;Huveaune, the Ubelka statue, one of the five fountains of the Huveaune, created for Marseille Provence 2013, Capital of Culture. In the back of the garden à the back of the mill, the Saint Claude bridge offers its beautiful and imposing image.
