Louis SANTIAGGI - Painter

Louis Santiaggi (1901-1971) was a Corsican painter and sculptor, renowned for his involvement in the École de l'Huveaune, a regional artistic movement born after the Second World War. Self-taught, he drew inspiration from masters such as Émile Loubon and Paul Guigou, developing a style marked by light and color, particularly in his landscapes of the Aubagne region. In addition to painting, he also distinguished himself in sculpture, creating works in his Aubagne studio. He exhibited regularly in cities such as Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, where his work was appreciated for its sincerity and technical mastery. Santiaggi leaves a lasting artistic legacy, testifying to the spirit of the École de l'Huveaune and his attachment to the beauty of the region.
