La Torre Latinoamericana

The Torre Latinoamericana is a skyscraper located in the historic center of Mexico City. Its central location, its height (183 m; 44 floors) and its history make it one of the most important monuments in Mexico City. It was also the tallest building in Mexico in 1956, when it was completed, until the WTC Tower, 24 meters taller, was finished in 1984. Its public platform, located on the 43rd floor, was the highest observation point in Mexico City until the inauguration of the Torre Mayor in December 2004. The project was designed and executed by Leonardo and Adolfo Zeevaert, Mexican civil engineers born in Veracruz. The expert in solid engineering Nathan M. Newmark actively participated in the design of the foundations.
