Villa DUBOIS

Rue Mathieu Dumoulin

A remarkable building from Amandin, this bourgeois house was built between 1901 and 1910 by a builder named Dubois. It is typical of the Louis XIII style. It has a porch sheltering the entrance of the house and a winter garden adjoining the main body of the building. Made of brick and stone, the villa has a slate hipped roof and a pavilion roof on the front. The roofs are pierced with large dormers and interrupted curved pediments.
On the ground floor, the house is composed of a small entrance giving access to the straight staircase distributing the different floors. Wooden moldings decorate all the rooms that have kept their path. The stairwell is also brightly lit by elaborate stained glass windows.

Becoming an artist's house, Villa Dubois now houses members of the dynamic associations « Sculptam », « les Peintres des Amis des Moulins » and the « Société des Photographes indépendants ».
