Place de l'Hôtel de Ville
L’Hôtel de Ville
The Town Hall was built in the choir of the Carmelite convent in 1838. The convent was built at the end of the 14th century to thank the Carmelites for their devotion during the plague epidemic that struck the city in 1348. Some vestiges still remain: the Notre-Dame de la Pitié chapel (now the foyer of the Theater) as well as the ogival door that marks the entrance to the Maurice Sand room.
