Stanislas FABRE
Stanislas FABRE - Politician
1892 - 1976
A man of conviction and progress, Stanislas Fabre was elected mayor of Cuges-les-Pins in May 1945, in the surge of renewal that followed the Second World War. His election marked a return to local democracy after the years of Occupation. He formed a united team around Lucius Cal, his first deputy, to rebuild and modernize the village.
A builder and visionary mayor
Under his tenure, Cuges wine was recognized in 1947 by classification as a Vin Délimité de Qualité Supérieure (VDQS), a distinction that gave new impetus to local viticulture. Stanislas Fabre also set out to strengthen communal life and nurture solidarity among residents, in a spirit faithful to the values of the Liberation: liberty, fraternity and collective work.
A living memory
Respected and close to the people of Cuges-les-Pins, Stanislas Fabre left a lasting mark on the village's memory. The town hall square now bears his name, in tribute to his commitment to the community and his contribution to the prosperity of Cuges-les-Pins in the post-war period.
