Rue du Docteur Defaix

In the 1980s, rue de l'École was renamed rue du Docteur Defaix as a tribute to this hospital practitioner. This decision was not taken at random: although the old name has no meaning since the closing of the old "public school for girls" and its replacement by the new town hall, it was important to commemorate the memory of Doctor DEFAIX shortly after his death. This dedicated physician served as the village generalist for many years, but it was upon his arrival in 1932 that he began to make his mark on the village;e in 1932 that he proved his worth by preventing a typhoid fever epidemic from causing a disaster in the village, ultimately killing only twelve people.
