Avenue Boyer
Avenue Boyer
Originally from Nice, the Boyer family appears for the first time in the records of Menton in 1689, on the occasion of the marriage of Pierre Boyer to Dévote Faraldo. The Boyer family were apparently very well-to-do landowners, allied to the Pastore, Carlès, Massa families, etc. The names of two brothers are retained: François and Valentin, sons of Pierre Boyer and Louise Spinelli. Valentin Boyer (died January 4, 1881) was a benefactor of the City of Menton. We owe him the creation of the municipal library, since he offered many books to the work of the "Sou de l'école laïque", the first draft of the library.
