L'église de la Sainte famille
Beautiful building of contemporary architecture, built in 2004. It hosts religious services. The church of the Holy Family is characterized by a monumental dome, made of stones cut by the companions of the duty and covered with copper on its external part. The entrance door and the tympanum are covered with a mosaic made by the Jesuit Father Marko UPNIK, an artist who has made real masterpieces in Lourdes, Fatima and San Giovanni Rotondo. Entering the church through a vast narthex, one discovers the ovoid dome which imposes itself by its dimensions, 18 m in length, 26 m in width and 19 m in height. It rests on 4 reinforced concrete pillars, each 10 m high and weighing 50 tons. Each pillar is topped by a capital made of chandeliered stone sculpted with symbols representing the 4 evangelists: St Matthew is represented by a human form, the lion represents St Mark, St Luke the Bull and St John the Eagle. In addition to the baptistery for young children, made of Tavel stone and composed of a basin and a foot in the form of a cross twisted by a quarter of a turn, the church has the particularity of housing on the left of the altar, a baptistery for adults in the form of a basin.
