At this location was near the place du commerce and a building used as a hall of fêtes (1892). In 1912, the municipal council of Genelis décide the construction of a school group including école de filles and &eacute enfantine. The boys' school occupies the current premises of the town hall.The plans and estimates are drawn up by M. Javelle, architect à Dijon and were approved in February 1914. The building was finally completed in November 1921.in 1925 the monument to the dead of World War I was placed on the front of the brand new building.The school was named after Jules Ferry in 1937.
