Chemin de Saint-Pierre
Eglise Saint-Pierre
The construction of the new parish church of Auriol began in 1855. The first stone of the church was laid on May 4, 1856 by the Bishop of Marseille in the presence of the people of Auriol. This one participates actively in the construction of the church. The materials are mostly from the region: the blocks of the foundations come from Cassis, the exterior columns from Arles, the interior columns from Beaucaire, the steps from Belcodène and the walnut doors from Vède. The altar and pulpit, both made of oak, are classified as historical monuments. Two crystal chandeliers were donated by the Aubert family, following the dedication of the church.
