Rue du Vice Légat
Verger urbain V
Built at the request of Pope Urban V in the 16th century at the back of the Palace of the Popes, this orchard was originally part of a larger set of gardens that the Pope enjoyed. As its name indicates, it was here that the Pope obtained the fruits present at his table. From the 14th century, it has kept part of its rampart as well as its walkway, rearranged for the pleasure of children. It is now a public garden, equipped with benches and a playground. It is equipped with a fountain and a "dry fountain" whose function is double: a pedestrian space when it is stopped, it becomes an aquatic playground in operation.
