Rue Meynadier

Meynadier

Opened in the 16th century under the name of Grand-Rue with the function of the route to Antibes, it is one of the oldest streets in Cannes. In 1945 it was renamed Rue Meynadier. The name of the street Meynadier associates in a homage the memory of Lieutenant Thereacute;odore Meynadier, who died in the field of honor on April 7, 1915 at the Éparges, and of his son, Captain Roger Meynadier, a Cannes resistance fighter who died on October 13, 1944, before reaching the age of 30, at the Val de Grâce military hospital. An old Cannes family, the Meynadiers lived at number 2 rue Grande. At number 43, you will find the Raina cutlery, the oldest store in Cannes.
