L’hôtel d'Agar

The Hotel d'Agar is a private mansion located in Cavaillon, in the department of Vaucluse. In the 1990s, a couple of doctors, Christian Morand and Véronique Valton, bought the building and the garden to restore them1. The Hôtel d'Agar opened its doors to the public for the first time in 2000 during an exhibition in honor of the poet Joseph d'Arbaud. The building and the garden have been registered as historical monuments since March 14, 2011. The Hotel d'Agar is presented as a summary of the history of Cavaillon from the 12th to the 17th century. The place is open to the public during heritage days, garden days or during exhibitions. There is an association of friends of the hotel of Agar. The hotel is home to two paintings attributable, according to the assertions of the owners relayed by the local press, to Caravaggio.
