Their story.

St. Victor's Abbey was founded in the fifth century by John Cassian, who was welcomed by Proculus, the Bishop of Marseille (380-430). Anachor (a religious retired from society), Cassian is certainly the initiator of the monastic life in Marseille. A cult was organized on the site of the present abbey, around a tomb which is still being visited and which tradition, once again, claims to house the relics of the 4th century Marseille martyr Saint Victor
