Their story.

Aristide Briand was a French statesman who held several important positions during his political career. Born in Nantes, France, he became a lawyer before entering politics. Briand was first elected in 1902 and served several times as Prime Minister of France between 1909 and 1926. He was also Minister of Foreign Affairs on several occasions. One of Aristide Briand's most important achievements was his contribution to the establishment of the Society of Nations, the international organization created after the First World War to maintain international peace and security. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1926 for his work for international peace and cooperation.

Aristide Briand is also known for his commitment to pacifism and international arbitration. He proposed the Briand-Kellogg Pact in 1928, which was signed by many countries and aimed to outlaw war as a means of resolving international disputes. Aristide Briand died in 1932, leaving behind an important legacy in international diplomacy and politics.

The first of these was the signing of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women in 1932
