Char Jeanne d'Arc

Their story.

Marseille was liberated on August 28, 1944 after fierce fighting. The tank Jeanne d'Arc (sherman M4A4 of the 1stDB) was severely hit and immobilized in front of the Bishop's Palace. Restored and inaugurated as a commemorative monument on August 25, 1946, this tank still bears witness to the harshness of these battles, but also to the return to freedom.
