Rue Denfert Rochereau
Bibliothèque Marmottan
Private mansion and library of Paul Marmottan (1856-1932), historian, collector, patron and traveler. The complex was probably designed by Marmottan himself, with the help of L. Monin, architect-auditor in Courbevoie. The buildings, which were built between 1890 and 1927, imitate the style of the First Empire. The janitor's pavilion, with a concave façade, dates from 1924; it is signed by the architect L. Perin. The entrance hall of the library was designed by the architect Fernand Rimbert in 1927. The ensemble was bequeathed to the Académie des Beaux Arts in 1932. The library, dedicated to the Napoleonic period, was restored and enlarged in 1996.
