Daniel Dewar & Grégory Gicquel

The sculpture "Pied" is part of a body of work that was conceived and produced especially for the exhibition "La jeune sculpture, Daniel Dewar & Grégory Gicquel" at the Rodin Museum in 2014. It consists of nine large-scale concrete sculptures. Modeled, cast and assembled by the artists themselves using traditional sculptural techniques, these sculptures represent fragments of naked bodies, some in the round and others more architectural. Collaborating since their meeting in 1997 at the École des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, the two artists, winners of the 2012 Marcel Duchamp Prize, explore together a very experimental path between erudition and amateurism, rereading art history and highlighting artisanal know-how. Don't forget to participate in the game (see menu at the bottom of the page)!
