Albert GASTINEL
Albert GASTINEL - Doctor
1873 - 1918
Albert Gastinel was a doctor in Cuges-les-Pins in the late XIXᵉ and early XXᵉ centuries. At a time when access to healthcare was limited, particularly in rural areas, he played an essential role in the daily life of the village. A local doctor, he was known for his constant devotion to the inhabitants, intervening with all social classes, often under difficult conditions. His availability, sense of duty and human commitment earned him deep gratitude from the local population. When the First World War broke out, Albert Gastinel was already ill. . His weakened health deteriorated sharply during the conflict. He died shortly after his return from the front, in 1918, as a result of a worsening illness.
As a tribute to his courage, his spirit of sacrifice and his exemplary commitment to the service of others, the commune gave his name to the street where his family home was located. This naming perpetuates the memory of a man who fully embodied the values of solidarity and public service.
