Their story.
In June 2021 a giant work by Marseille artist Sardo Marsiho was installed on the roof of a residence on Boulevard Tellene. The artist, whose name means "sardine marseillaise" in Provençal, has realised a 30 meters long XXL version of his fresh fish visible from Notre-Dame de la Garde. Not far from the Old Port, the artist swam in white and fresh water before meeting his Sardine of Marseille. A childhood within a large family, a career path full of rebounds, Marseille and elsewhere, dives into environments as contrasting as technical drawing, renewable energies or London cuisine have given Sardo Marsiho the profile of an almost all-terrain explorer. It is as if one day in 2013, a sardine from Marseille was born under the artist's hand: as a gift to his cousin who lives down there, Sardo Marsiuteho creates a painting with a sardine and the Marseilles identity attached to it; a sardine in line drawing, with a colored head and tail and a skeleton that reveals the name of Marseille in calligraphy. Back in France, encouraged by a few well-wishers, he decided to give a concrete twist to this experience and to make the adventure of his Sardine of Marseille live.
