Their story.
Vincent van Gogh éwas a Dutch post-impressionist painter, noted for his expressive style and vivid color palette. In February 1888, he arrived in Arles, in the south of France, where he spent 15 very productive months. Van Gogh was attracted to Arles for its sunny climate and natural beauty. He also intended to create a community of artists with Paul Gauguin and other painters, with the aim of developing a new artistic approach. However, their collaboration was tumultuous and Gauguin left Arles after only two months.
During his time in Arles, Van Gogh created more than 200 paintings, including such masterpieces as "The Night toil", The Sunflowers" and "The Bedroom". He was particularly inspired by the landscapes of the region, the fields of wheat and fruit trees in bloom.van Gogh also experienced periods of mental depression and instability in Arles, culminating in a crisis in December 1888 when he cut part of his left ear. He was hospitalized in Arles and left the city for treatment at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Reacute-de-Provence.despite the difficulties he encountered, Van Gogh's time in Arles is considered one of the most creative periods of his life. His paintings from this period influenced many later artists and helped to make him one of the most celebrated painters of all time.
