Their story.
What would a campus be without its library? You’re standing in front of one of the hubs of our campus. Here, we don’t just rack our brains!
Completed in 2009, this building houses extensive collections of all kinds: from scientific encyclopedias to comic books and novels, the Marie Curie Library is as much a place of learning as it is a place to live.
Behind the studious calm and neatly arranged shelves lies much more than just a library: the “BMC” is a vibrant space, designed for all members of INSA Lyon. Throughout the year, it offers a varied program, as well as resources and spaces adapted to new uses and new ways of learning. Its special touch? Visible from the entrance hall is a beautiful orange staircase, designed as the backbone connecting the building’s three floors.

- On your left, installed on the plaza since 2010, Lilian Bourgeat’s construction cone playfully highlights the state of science and the campus: always on the move! It can also be seen as a nod to Jacques Perrin-Fayolle’s pyramid, near the “INSA Einstein” tram stop.
- Among the library’s major initiatives, the promotion of open science plays a key role. Its goal? To make scientific knowledge accessible to as many people as possible, in a spirit of free sharing and transparency.
- Check the BMC’s program regularly: exhibitions, workshops, and events designed in collaboration with partners, teachers, and students are sure to appeal to people of all ages.
