Here you are in front of one of the newest buildings on campus: the I-Factory. In this space, supported by the University of Lyon, we bring together groups that don’t always have the opportunity to work together: students, companies, researchers, and innovation leaders. With its 6,500 m², the I-Factory brings together technology platforms, workspaces, and venues for exchange to foster fruitful ideas. It is here that INSA Lyon’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department designs programs that nurture the entrepreneurial spirit from the 1st through the 5th year. 
In short? A place to experiment, learn, and take risks. Because at INSA Lyon, there’s a strong belief: making room for experimentation is often the best way to learn—especially if it means making mistakes, starting over, and giving free rein to your creativity. 

DID YOU KNOW ?

• Want to start a business while studying engineering? You don’t need to have already come up with “the idea of the century”! Students can get a taste of entrepreneurship throughout their studies, whether they have a project in mind or simply want to explore.
• INSA Lyon has seen several great entrepreneurial ventures take flight, including OpenClassrooms, Klaxit (now BlaBlaCar Daily), and MobEnergy. Proof that the classroom can also be the starting point for big ideas.
• Here, we believe in the “power of doing”: students can bring their ideas to life and even give them tangible form. In fact, just a few steps away is the FIMITECH platform, which allows students to grasp the technical aspects of the engineering profession.
