Place de la Cathédrale

The cathedral of Toulon is over 900 years old. It is characterized by a curious mixture of style, from the expansion in the seventeenth century of the Romanesque church of the eleventh century: classical facade with baroque details, massive bell tower (1740) surmounted by a splendid wrought iron campanile. The interior, which has been redesigned several times, retains a gothic unit with simple arches. Baroque altar in marble and stucco realized by Christophe Veyrier, nephew and grandson of Pierre Puget. Classified as a historical monument.
